If you follow my twitter, or are on my facebook page, you know I have a thing for the Texas State Fair. I’ve been going since I was a small child and I look forward to it every single year. I actually didn’t end up taking that many pictures this year, for a variety of reasons. A big one being that it rained.. a lot. But, here are a few of the pictures I did take… plus, a little surprise at the end.
Palominos were always my favorite as a girl.
We also saw… dancing dogs..! Which were pretty darn cute, if you ask me.
I just love the look on her face. She is having a good time!
We checked out the arts & crafts displays. I loved this spooky wedding couple and the display of ‘punny’ shoes.
This robot had a lot of personality and sass.
The rain was just a tiny bit of a drizzle by this time, so I went ahead and took a few shots of Big Tex. It’s just not a fair without Big Tex.
I also really liked this shot in black and white.
We went through the midway on our way out, and I grabbed a few shots of the rides. I didn’t have a tripod with me, so it’s all handheld. EXIF is attached for any interested photographers.
Okay.. well, truth be told. I’m holding out on you a little. There are a couple other pictures I’m going to show. Be warned.. they’re not very pretty.. but, they’re pretty funny 🙂 I have some pictures of me, approximately 10 or 11 years old with a cut out lion at the Backyard Circus, which is a long running feature at the State Fair. I decided that it’d be pretty funny to recreate the moments with an older me.
(Yes, this is slightly embarrassing, but the amusement factor outweighs the embarrassment factor!)
I think the originals still win!
I missed the fair this year…thanks for the nice photos! My favorite (current) photo is the dapple gray horse legs next to the blue-jeaned human legs with cowboy boots. I really like those boots. My favorite original is the very last one!
