I finally got my favorite dancer, my daughter, downtown for some Dallas ballet photography. Downtown Dallas has so many fun spots to experiment with, each with their own vibe. Naturally, the sun decided to disappear a few minutes after we got started, but I always take a ‘make it work’ mentality. We had a couple of friends join us, to keep it fun and lively. I’m incredibly proud of how hard my girl has worked, especially on her pointe skills, over the last year. I see a new breath of excitement and dedication in dance, and I’m always glad when she agrees to let me take photos. I love the classic downtown city feel of Main street, and the fun murals and lights that add texture to photos. When she was little, it often felt like we were rushing. Can’t wait for this, and can’t wait for that. Now that she’s fourteen, I am begging time to slow down. I plan on savoring the years ahead on this dance journey.
