Flashback Friday

These images are perhaps slightly embarrassing, but I guess there is never much use in being embarrassed about the past. I was on a bit of a slow learning curve when it came to riding my bike. Jonathan there (in the swim trunks) could zip past me on a bike by the time I learned to ride. But, then again, he’s always been athletic. I loved this bike. It had a floral banana seat, and I called it Beauty, like the horse book.

Unfortunately, Beauty came to a sad end several years later. Jonathan’s bike had some kind of issue, so he had been riding my beloved bike, and instead of putting it back where it belonged, he left it lying in the drive way. You can imagine what happened next. My mother ran over Beauty with the car, and she was done for. The frame was bent. I was devastated. I never loved another bicycle the way I loved that one. 🙂

Very cute pictures! It took me a while to learn how to ride a bike as well. My little brother, on the other hand, was riding his bike with no training wheels at three! Little brothers just like to show up their older sisters 😉
